M/S Alpha Compressor Valves Pvt. Ltd. was started in the year 1989 by a group of highly qualified and experienced technocrats. Their experience was in the line of compressor technology for several decades and covered various aspects of R & D, manufacturing, servicing, marketing etc.
From the inception, the company has developed innumerable parts & assemblies which cover valves & other assemblies and parts for screw and reciprocating types of compressors. Also range of accessories like Safety valves, plate type NRVs etc. have also been developed during this period.
All assemblies are tested 100% before dispatch so as to assure performance like original / new equipment.
The Reciprocating Compressor Valves are tested for leakage using an Electro-pneumatic Testing Rig which digitally displays the rate of leakage of valve assembly very accurately.
Similar test rigs are developed for other assemblies like Oil stop valve assemblies of screw compressors or Safety Valves of compressors etc.
Important dimensions of parts are recorded batch-wise before assembly so that performance and fitment related parameters are thoroughly maintained. Due to this our assemblies and components go directly to the assembly lines of OEMs to whom we supply these.
All the necessary gauges, tooling and jigs & fixtures are developed by us to maintain the quality standards. Calibration of all instruments, gauges, inspection equipments is done periodically and records are maintained.
ACVPL has over the years developed a strong workforce having the necessary skills & experience to manufacture values of quality valves and also help the organization grow to.
Due to the support of O.E.M.s to whom the assemblies and parts are supplied, we have been catering to O.E.M.s with best quality valves of various types and parts etc. As a result, our parts & assemblies go directly in the assembly shop and we are DOL (Direct Online Suppliers) suppliers for them.
Over the years, we have developed various types of casting suppliers for S.G. Iron, investment castings, and C. I. castings to cater to our needs. Also we have developed suppliers for machining various parts on CNC machines etc.
Incoming parts are checked for quality and quantity using instruments and gauges and recorded in the Inward Inspection Report. A GRR no is allotted to every challan. Material testing report accompanies the material wherever required . Chemical testing is conducted from approved laboratories and record of the same is maintained.
In process checks are made by the Q.A. person in the machine shop and record of the same is made in the Route Cards. After completion of all processes the material goes to Inspection Section where parts are checked on sample basis . Route Card is signed by Inspection person and sent to Stores.
Assembly draws the parts from Stores , assembles , tests the assemblies and test report is made. A Test Certificate in case of assemblies and Quality Control Report in case of parts wherever necessary , accompanies the material dispatch to the customer. Quality Control Report for parts consists of essentially dimensional report of parts.
ISO 9001 certification was acquired by the company in July 2004 from RINA , 136 years old certifying agency from Italy.
A unique testing facility for valves is being used to test the valves for leakage. It consists of a chamber on which the valve is placed with rubber sealing. The chamber is pressurised to say 4 bars and solenoid valve goes off and timer starts. After say 12 seconds pressure drops to some level say 3 bars depending on the valve size and manufacturing quality. According to size, design of valves and size of chamber, the accepted standards have been created. Every valve is checked before packing on this Test Rig.
The promoters are highly qualified engineers with extensive R&D and manufacturing/servicing experience.
A special software for design and analysis reciprocating compressor valves has been developed by one of the promoters . The input to software consists of compressor parameters , valve parameters , as well as atmospheric conditions . Three differential equations which consist of thermodynamic model , valve spring mass characteristic and variable valve gap and flow equation make a complete mathematical model for valve design and analysis. The output of software consists of valve losses as a percent of adiabatic power , valve lift graph verses crank angle , valve plate velocity verses crank angle and valve plate verses crank angle. With these output parameters , satisfactory life of valve parts such as valve plates and springs can be ensured. Also field failure analysis can also be done and improvements could be suggested for life enhancement.
